December 8th Engagements

14 seminarians made their initial engagements in the Society of St. Pius X on December 8th of this year.

Every year, on December 8th, the feast of our Lady's Immaculate Conception, second year seminarians (those in their year of first philosophy) make their initial engagements in the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X. By so doing, they are incardinated into a religious community which is necessary to be allowed to become a cleric and enter the threshold of the sacrament of Holy Orders. By this incardination, the seminarian is attached to an established religious order or a diocese. For the initial engagement, those entering the SSPX make a public oblation in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
