Winter hike of the Seminary

St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary
Every month in Winona, the Seminary heads out for a day hiking in the woods and hills of Minnesota. These are welcome breaks providing an opportunity for fresh air, and a good stretch of the legs – just the relaxation which a hard-studying seminarian needs.
This month the Seminary hiked nine miles through Frontenac State Park – a scenic series of trails, winding up and down the wooded hills overlooking the Mississippi. The weather was a relief; after weeks of zero and sub-zero temperatures, 26 degrees Fahrenheit seemed like a warm spring day. After the hike, the fatigued seminarians sat down to a well-deserved pizza dinner to end a long and tiring day.
