October 2011 - The Silent Persecution

At the beginning of October we will receive twenty new students. The total number will then exceed the symbolic figure of one hundred. We entrust all these young people to your prayers – though, to be honest, some of them are not so young! Without this assault of prayer perseveringly addressed to Heaven, our poor efforts could not bear fruit.

Dear friends and benefactors,

At the beginning of October we will receive twenty new students. The total number will then exceed the symbolic figure of one hundred. We entrust all these young people to your prayers – though, to be honest, some of them are not so young! Without this assault of prayer perseveringly addressed to Heaven, our poor efforts could not bear fruit.

Tomorrow, these fervent souls will be who will give you our Good Lord and thus help you to reach Heaven. Their important holiness is in your hands, particularly at the time of your daily rosaries and sacrifices. We wholeheartedly thank you for supporting them.

This relatively important number of students amply justifies the building of a house of adequate dimensions! We thus have the joy of announcing to you that, on October 13, we will begin work on our splendid property in Virginia. In our next letter, we will send you a special report on this ceremony, also giving you full details about the building itself, with photographic montages which will give you a good idea of what we hope to accomplish thanks to your generosity.

In this beginning of a new school-year, we would like to disperse a bit of the gloom into which we have been for some time – the Polish minister for Foreign Affairs went even as far as to speak of a possible war – by proposing a splendid and prophetic text of Rev. Fr. Pierre de Clorivière, written during the very first years of the French Revolution. Its extreme relevance and its elevation of views excuse us from adding further comment, which would do nothing but weigh down a text that is sufficient in itself and a source of hope for all good souls, particularly in our times, these times of silent and exacting persecution.

In Christo sacerdote et Maria,

Fr. Yves le Roux
